The Old College, by David Rhind, opened in 1855 as Daniel Stewart’s Hospital for 50 destitute boys. In 1870 the Edinburgh Merchant Company turned the Hospital into a fee paying day school and changed the name to Daniel Stewart’s College. For Doors Open Days 2021, we will be open for in-person pre-booked guided tours on Saturday 25 September 2021.
The tours will take place at 11.00am, 11.30am , 12.00noon, 12.30pm, 1.00pm, 1.30pm, 2.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.00pm and 3.30pm.
Each tour will last 25 minutes and should be booked by a single social “bubble” only. The ten available slots can be booked via our website.
Bookings have priority, but casual visitors will be taken if no booked slots have been taken at the time.
