Seafield Regeneration: Have Your Say!

The City of Edinburgh Council is calling on residents to participate in shaping the future of Seafield. This coastal area is set to undergo significant transformation as part of the Edinburgh City Plan 2030. The proposed plans include the creation of a new promenade, a GP surgery, and spaces for shops and workplaces. Additionally, up to 2,700 new homes are planned, with 35% designated as affordable housing to address the city’s housing crisis.

A key feature of the development is the introduction of a heat network, which aims to reduce energy costs for residents while supporting Edinburgh’s net zero targets. This consultation marks the third phase of the Seafield Place Brief and Seafield Masterplan, building on previous engagement stages and seeking to gather input from the community.

Residents are encouraged to attend drop-in sessions or participate in an online survey via the Consultation Hub. Planning convener James Dalgleish emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “This is a chance for residents to shape the future of the area – whether it’s about improving transport links, preserving green spaces, or introducing new community facilities.”

  • Portobello Library: Saturday, March 8, 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Leith Library: Friday, March 21, 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
