Whitehouse & Grange Bowling Club was founded in 1872. The Club promotes the sport of bowls for both men and women. Membership entitles the use of all facilities of the Club including entry to club competitions and to represent the Club in matches and external competitions.
The Club continues to be part of the social fabric of the local Grange community and alongside the nearby Carlton Cricket Club provides sporting facilities for all.
The Clubhouse dates from 1872 with the addition of a mock Tudor storey in 1912 designed by the renowned Edinburgh architect Sir George Washington Browne who was also responsible for the Caledonian Hotel and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. The Rose Garden was replanted in 2021.
You are invited to visit our Club on Sunday 26th September between 12:30 to 16:00.
There will be a one way system operating through the Rose Garden and around the Green with access to view the upstairs part of Clubhouse. Numbers in the Clubhouse will be limited to six at any one time. Hand sanitiser and registration at the entrance gate. There are no parking restrictions in Hope Terrace on a Sunday. Some light refreshments will be available in the Marquee. No dogs except guide dogs and the Club is a no smoking zone.
For those who cannot make it physically, we have prepared a short virtual tour by PowerPoint which you can see on our website.
