Tall Tales Walking Tour

In front of St Giles' Cathedral, High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1RE

What do a Polish war veteran, a horse from Ancient Macedonia, a Roman Emperor and the Edinburgh firefighter who became first Director of London Fire Brigade all have in common…?

Well…they feature in the ‘Tall Tales Walking Tour’ run by the Edinburgh branch of the Scottish Tourist Guide Association.

As ‘Blue Badge’ guides we are qualified to take tours all over Scotland helping visitors understand the history and culture of our wonderful country. In early summer of 2021 we were enlightening Edinburgh locals about some of the 62 statues which form part of the daily background of the Edinburgh landscape. Many commented how much they’d enjoyed finding out about the bronze figures they walked past daily and to which they had rarely given a second glance.

You can unlock this knowledge this Doors Open Days weekend in two ways. Our Blue Badge guides are offering a free, traditional “in-person” outdoor tour (more details and booking link below) or your can sign up for a free virtual tour by clicking here.
