Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh – Glasshouses, Herbarium and Library

Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5LR

Hidden within 70 acres of stunning Garden lie our Glasshouses, Library and Herbarium – quiet spaces where crucial research and conservation work take place. For this year’s digital Doors Open Days, as we celebrate the 350th anniversary of our foundation, we invite you to explore these special places from the comfort of your own home.

In Treasures under Glass, explore our wonderful collections of tropical and subtropical plants, many of which are rare and endangered in the wild, and learn more about our international conservation work.

The World in One Room shows how the 3 million preserved specimens in our Herbarium are a scientific resource of worldwide importance, while rare botanical books, art and artefacts are conserved in our Library.

We hope you enjoy your virtual visit with us today, until we next see you in person…
