Meadows to George Street Project – Consultation

POSTED ON May 9, 2024 BY James Garry

The final legal stage, with traffic orders publicly advertised

This project’s  vision is to transform cycling, walking, public spaces and accessibility for all on some of Edinburgh’s busiest and most iconic streets making them even more attractive places to live, work and visit.

In doing so the project aims to provide key walking, wheeling and cycling improvements including new cycleways and widened footways from Teviot Place along Forrest Road, George IV Bridge and Hanover Street to George Street.

As an important part of the Edinburgh City Centre Transformation Strategy, Meadows to George Street will be one of the first projects in the city to deliver major street improvements of this kind.

The project will  seek to seamlessly connect with the George Street and First New Town project and City Centre West to East Link.

From the 19th April to 17th May 2024 you can give your feedback on the detailed project designs, Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) and Redetermination Orders (RSO) for the project. Details of the TRO and RSO are available on the Council’s website, including information on how to comment
