Witch Hunts, The Church and The Big House

Thursday, April 25

RAWS (Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland) are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, campaigning to raise awareness of the ordinary women and men who were accused of witchcraft during this dark period of Scottish history.

Delivered by steering group members from RAWS, the talk will cover how they got started and what they have accomplished so far, as well as witchcraft acts, myth busting and torture devices. We will also discuss former Gladstone’s Land resident William Struthers and his connections to St Giles Cathedral and Gladstone’s Land.
