Recording Poverty and Murder in 19th century Edinburgh
Wednesday 15 December, 6.30 pm, by Zoom
Edinburgh Old Town Association will host John Lowrey, Senior Lecturer in Architectural History at the University of Edinburgh, offering us a talk on the recording methods used in 19th Century Edinburgh to capture life within the Old Town. City architects were employed to record crime scenes in Edinburgh and their detailed drawings provide an insight into a type of domestic architecture (mainly the lodging house) which normally doesn’t feature in architectural histories.
This online event is free to OTA members. Non-members may attend if a donation of at least £5.00 for each event has been made. Donate online via the link below, giving your details at the time of donation, and the OTA will send you the link to join the talk.
